Courtney Matsuishi focuses her practice on corporate transactions and energy matters.  She has experience in debt financing, mergers and acquisitions, joint venture partnerships and project development.

Her experience includes representing—

  • a private wind farm developer in an over $1 billion omnibus debt and equity restructuring of existing corporate and turbine acquisition secured loans
  • a private wind farm developer in multiple complex and coordinated letter of credit and mezzanine debt financings totaling $325 million
  • a major community college district in connection with development, construction and financing for a $17 million multicampus solar energy facility installation program using tax-efficient financing strategies
  • a major power company in its acquisition of an ownership interest in an approximate 800 MW gas-fired power generation facility
  • a major power company in its acquisition of an ownership interest in an approximate 650 MW gas-fired power generation facility
  • a private iron ore mining company in a $45 million secured working capital and project financing.

Ms. Matsuishi received her J.D. from Vanderbilt University in 2008 and her B.A. degree magna cum laude from Boston University in 2005.  In law school, she was an intern with the Department of Justice.  She is a member of the American Bar Association, California Bar Association and Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles.

Ms. Matsuishi is the co-author of “Fixing America’s Failed Energy Policy,” which was published in Law360.com (January 2009) and MetropolitanCorpCounsel.com (January 2009).

Ms. Matsuishi is admitted to practice in California.
