Christina Padien focuses her practice on commercial financial restructuring matters with a concentration on in-court and out-of-court restructurings, representing informal and formal bondholder committees and official creditor committees.

Ms. Padien is currently a member of the Los Angeles office’s diversity committee.

Ms. Padien received her B.A. in political science from the University of California, San Diego in 2000 and her J.D. from the University of Southern California Law School in 2004. She is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation, the American Bar Association and the Turnaround Management Association. The California Super Lawyers Magazine has recognized her as a “Rising Star” in 2009.

Ms. Padien's recent representations include

  • an informal committee of noteholders of Vertis Holdings, Inc., et al., in connection with a dual pre-packaged bankruptcy and merger with competitor American Color Graphics
  • an informal committee of noteholders of American Media Operations, Inc. in connection with an out-of-court exchange of notes
  • a bondholder and first-lien lender of Spectrum Jungle Labs Corporation in connection with a pre-negotiated chapter 11 bankruptcy case
  • debtors PetroRig I Pte Ltd, et al.

Ms. Padien is the co-author of “Deepening Insolvency: A Doctrine in Decline?,” 29 Cal. Bankr. J. 199, 212 (2007).
