Carmen S. Pokluda has more than 12 years of experience representing clients in the area of commercial litigation. Ms. Pokluda has handled complex contract disputes, business fraud matters, disputes arising from international banking transactions, professional malpractice cases, bankruptcy-related litigation, consumer class actions and complex tort cases.
Prior to joining Akin Gump, Ms. Pokluda was an associate in the Houston office of another law firm. Additionally, she has worked in human resources and employee relations in both law firm and corporate settings.
A native of Houston, Ms. Pokluda received her B.A. in English from Sam Houston State University in 1982 and her J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 1986. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Houston Bar Association, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
