Since joining the firm in 1973, David A. Donohoe, P.C. has focused on securities and antitrust litigation.

Mr. Donohoe has handled a number of securities cases, including the first Williams Act case involving the banking industry, a series of 1934 Act fraud cases involving oil and gas syndications, a 1934 Act "fraud on the market" claim in New York and two trials in the Eastern District of Virginia involving suits by limited partners in failed real estate syndications. He was counsel to a supermarket chain in a multidistrict securities fraud litigation and to an outsourcing vendor in the defense of an investors' class 1934 Act fraud trial. He has also represented numerous corporate and individual clients in grand jury investigations and trials involving securities and antitrust issues.

Mr. Donohoe began practicing law as an associate at a law firm in New York, where he handled a wide variety of securities fraud cases, as well as New York Stock Exchange arbitrations. From 1967 to 1969, he was the assistant general counsel at the Hartford Insurance Corporation headquarters in Connecticut, serving as the principal in-house securities lawyer. In 1969 he joined another firm in Washington.

Mr. Donohoe received his A.B. cum laude in 1959 and his J.D. in 1962 from the Catholic University of America. He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and served as the associate editor of the Catholic University Law Review.

Mr. Donohoe has served as a member of the Catholic University Board of Regents for 10 years and is currently vice chairman of that board.

Mr. Donohoe is a member of the District of Columbia, New York and Connecticut bars and is admitted to practice before a number of federal courts.
