David H. Eisenstat is a retired partner and serves as a consultant to the firm. He founded and headed the firm’s health industry practice from 1981 through 2007. During his career, Mr. Eisenstat represented major academic medical centers, heath care systems, specialty hospitals and various other heath care related enterprises in a broad spectrum of engagements, including mergers and acquisitions; managed care contracting; Medicare, Medicaid and other third-party payor reimbursement matters; fraud and abuse issues; government investigations; antitrust litigation; legislative advocacy; and general commercial litigation. Mr. Eisenstat has extensive experience before state and federal administrative agencies and before state and federal trial and appellate courts.
Mr. Eisenstat received his B.A. and M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1973 and his J.D. in 1976 from the Syracuse University College of Law, where he was research editor of the Syracuse Law Review. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and is admitted to practice before a number of federal district courts and circuit courts of appeals.
In 2006 Mr. Eisenstat was named by Nightingale’s Healthcare News as one of the 10 “Outstanding Hospital Lawyers” in the United States.
