Practice & Background

Prior to joining Akin Gump, Mr. Ahmed served as a law clerk to the Honorable Alan D. Lourie of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and to the Honorable T. John Ward of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Ahmed was a software engineer with Psion PLC and Symbol Technologies (both now part of Motorola). With these companies, Mr. Ahmed designed and developed software for use in mobile computing systems and embedded wireless networking systems.

Mr. Ahmed received both his M.S. in computer science and his J.D. from the University of Houston, where he was an articles editor of the Houston Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif. He received his B.S. in electronics engineering from Bangalore University.
