Stefan Tsakanakis assists clients on export controls and sanctions matters, such as internal compliance programmes, licensing, classifications, transaction screenings and opinion work. Additionally, he provides legal and policy advice on various EU market access issues, notably in connection with Swiss-EU bilateral agreements.

Before joining Akin Gump, Stefan was a law clerk at the Swiss Federal Administrative Court. He also worked at the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission and at the litigation and investigations department of a Swiss multinational financial services provider.
