Christine LaFollette Named “Woman Dealmaker of the Year”

(Houston, Texas) – Christine LaFollette, a partner in the corporate energy practice at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP in Houston, was named “Woman Dealmaker of the Year” at the 9th Annual M&A Advisor Awards Gala. The event was held at the New York Athletic Club on December 14.
“The award winners represent the best of the M&A industry in 2010 and earned these honors by standing out in a group of very impressive finalists,” said Roger Aguinaldo, CEO of The M&A Advisor.
In recognizing Ms. LaFollette, The M&A Advisor cited her track record of tremendous leadership and ingenuity as well as her ability to motivate internal and external teams and negotiate through the many challenges wrought by the current economic climate.

The M&A Advisor Awards Gala honored deal teams, dealmakers and firms whose activities set the standard for the industry. This year, 243 finalists in 47 categories were chosen. An independent body of expert judges that span the M&A industry determined the ultimate recipients of the awards.
