Daily Journal Names Marissa Román Griffith Among Top Women Lawyers in California

Daily Journal has named Akin Gump entertainment and media partner Marissa Román Griffith to its annual list of the Top Women Lawyers in California.

The publication spotlighted her representation of Ratpac-Dune Entertainment on a credit facility to finance as many as 75 titles in its multiyear agreement with Warner Bros. Pictures and quoted Román Griffith as saying, “In any deal, it's always about getting the pieces to line up so that the financing structure actually works with the borrower's business.”

It also featured her representation of Comerica Bank as agent and lender on a credit facility providing up to $150 million of borrowing base financing to a U.S. studio and Comerica Bank, OneWest Bank, Union Bank and others on more than $450 million in financing for films such as Pitch Perfect and Search Party and television series such as Hannibal and Hemlock Grove.

Román Griffith is also noted as representing Hemisphere-Culver Picture Partners in connection with its JPMorgan credit facility.  On the topic of credit facilities, Daily Journal quotes Román Griffith as saying, “Last year and this year, I've seen an increase in deal flow for larger credit facilities. This is in line with the fact that the economy is trending upward and is getting back on track.”
