Heather L. Peckham’s practice focuses on federal and state appellate and complex business litigation matters. Her litigation experience includes claims brought under the Sherman Act and state antitrust acts; common law trademark and the Lanham Act claims; and a variety of state law contract, business tort and other claims. Ms. Peckham’s practice also includes international arbitration and complex class actions.
Ms. Peckham received her B.S. cum laude in environmental policy in 1995 from the University of Tulsa and her M.S. in environmental science in 1997 from Oklahoma State University. She received her J.D. cum laude in 2000 from the Southern Methodist University School of Law, where she was a member of Order of the Coif and the SMU Law Review and co-editor of the SMU Corporate Counsel Symposium. Ms. Peckham was a briefing attorney from 2000 to 2001 for Justice Alberto R. Gonzales and Chief Justice Wallace B. Jefferson, Texas Supreme Court.
Ms. Peckham is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the 5th Circuit Bar Association, the Dallas Bar Association and the Dallas Young Lawyers Association.
Ms. Peckham was recognized in 2005, 2006 and 2007 in a survey of her peers in the Texas legal field as a “Rising Star” (Texas Super Lawyers - Rising Star Edition 2005, 2006, 2007). She also served from 2005-2007 on the board of the Infant and Toddler Intervention Program of North Texas (now known as ReadyStart!), a nonprofit organization that provides therapy services to babies and toddlers with developmental delays.
Ms. Peckham previously served as a contributing editor of Dallas Federal Casenotes, and co-authored “Criminal Procedure: Pretrial, Trial and Appeal,” 56 SMU Law Review 1445 (Summer 2003).
