Our Team
Akin Gump offers clients recognized trial lawyers to handle and resolve their litigation matters. These trial lawyers have devoted their careers to defending the client’s interest in the courtroom. Included in this group is a former U.S. magistrate judge in the Eastern District of Texas, whose unique perspective of presiding over more than 75 Markman hearings and scores of complex patent cases provides clients with judicial insight rarely found elsewhere. The teams that run our patent cases include trial lawyers with technical backgrounds, an approach that provides our clients with a synergistic team able to handle their patent disputes effectively while fully understanding the technology at issue. Over 70 percent of our patent lawyers have technical degrees, including those in engineering, computer science, biology and chemistry. In addition, Akin Gump’s IP team has many experienced litigators with excellent reputations for handling trademark and copyright matters.
