Juliane Sullivan represents clients before Congress and the administration.
Before joining Akin Gump, Ms. Sullivan served as policy director for House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas. In that capacity, Ms. Sullivan managed the leader’s policy shop while working with members of Congress, committees, the administration and other leadership offices to develop and implement the House leadership’s legislative agenda. Specifically, she focused on issues related to appropriations, budget, small business and space policy.
Before assuming that role, Ms. Sullivan worked for four years as Rep. DeLay’s senior appropriations adviser. Previously, she served as senior legislative assistant to Rep. Anne Northup, R-Ky, and as legislative assistant to Rep. Ed Whitfield, R-Ky. Active in Republican politics, Ms. Sullivan has also worked on a number of congressional campaigns.
Ms. Sullivan received her B.A. with honors in journalism from Western Kentucky University in 1993.
