John Koerner’s practice covers a variety of labor and employment issues, including wage and hour class actions and issues arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Occupational Safety & Health Act.
Prior to joining Akin Gump, Mr. Koerner served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert G. Doumar, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
Mr. Koerner received his J.D. in 2009 from Columbia Law School, where he was a notes editor on the Columbia Law Review. While attending law school, he published an article in the Columbia Law Review and served as an extern for the New York City Law Department. He earned his B.A. with highest distinction in 2006 from the University of Virginia.
