Jason Steed’s practice focuses on commercial and appellate litigation.  In commercial litigation, his experience includes—

  • representing one of the world’s largest computer companies in a nationwide class action
  •  representing one of the nation’s largest computer companies in a statewide class action in California
  • representing small, local business owners in a high-profile dispute over new business ventures
  • representing a Texas-based brokerage firm in both litigation and arbitration proceedings, regarding a dispute with investors.

As an appellate lawyer, Mr. Steed has represented a wide variety of clients in appeals before both state and federal courts across the country—including the Supreme Court of Texas and the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Steed’s practice also involves many pro bono matters, in which he represents both indigent individuals and nonprofit organizations.

Mr. Steed was a Presidential Scholar and graduated with honors from the University of Texas School of Law. As a student, he interned with Judge Paul Kelly on the Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit; was on the editorial board of the Texas Journal on Civil Liberties and Civil Rights; was a Human Rights Scholar for the Rapoport Center for Human Rights and Justice; and was president of the student chapter of the American Constitution Society.

Mr. Steed also earned his MFA and Ph.D., and was an English professor for several years before becoming an attorney, during which time he published nearly two dozen articles of literary scholarship as well as several poems and short stories. Immediately prior to entering law school, he was a visiting professor at Brigham Young University.
