Karen Williams’ practice covers a variety of litigation and investigation matters.
Prior to joining Akin Gump, Ms. Williams served as a law clerk to the Honorable Thomas D. Schroeder of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina.
Ms. Williams received her B.A. in journalism and mass communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2002. She earned her J.D. magna cum laude from American University Washington College of Law in 2009, where she was named a member of the Order of the Coif and was the editor-in-chief of the American University Law Review. While attending law school, she served as an extern at the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Appellate Staff and as an intern to the Honorable Reggie B. Walton of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Ms. Williams is a member of the District of Columbia and Virginia bars.
