Kimberly Reindl represents media, wireless, telecommunications and information technology clients in regulatory proceedings before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and state agencies. She also counsels clients on a wide range of transactional matters, including the development and implementation of operational agreements and infrastructure leases, negotiation of commercial transactions, and strategic planning involving joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions.
Ms. Reindl’s regulatory practice focuses on competition and policy issues raised in proceedings before the FCC. She advises regulated entities and investment groups on the FCC’s transaction approval process, foreign investment rules, auction and anti-collusion rules, attribution rules, and ownership and control policies. Ms. Reindl also advises FCC licensees and start-ups on complex technical matters involving radio frequency use and interference between services and in assessing regulatory issues regarding the development and licensing of new services.
Prior to joining Akin Gump, Ms. Reindl served as a member of the transaction team in the FCC’s Office of General Counsel. In that capacity, she worked on several major transactions before the agency and on proceedings involving the FCC’s ownership and control policies, spectrum policies and bankruptcy issues. Ms. Reindl has extensive experience in private law practice and has been a small business entrepreneur.
Ms. Reindl received her J.D. from American University, where she was editor-in-chief of The Administrative Law Journal. She is a member of the District of Columbia Bar, the Federal Communications Bar Association and the American Bar Association’s Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice Section.
