Kelly M. Scindian’s practice focuses on labor and employment law. Ms. Scindian is actively involved in the firm’s national wage and hour litigation practice, representing clients in statewide and nationwide class actions arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act and various state wage and hour laws. Ms. Scindian also represents large employers in all aspects of civil rights and employment discrimination law, with an emphasis on complex employment litigation. In addition, Ms. Scindian counsels clients on matters arising under a variety of labor and employment statutes, including the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII, National Labor Relations Act and the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
Ms. Scindian received her B.A. in government and politics from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2000. She earned her J.D. in 2007 from Georgetown University Law Center, where she served as a member of the editorial board of The Tax Lawyer and as the publications editor of The State and Local Tax Lawyer. While in law school, Ms. Scindian clerked at the Department of Justice, United States Attorney’s Office, Civil Division and was a senior campaign finance analyst at the Federal Election Commission.
Ms. Scindian is a member of the Maryland and District of Columbia bars and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
