An accomplished trial lawyer, Lisa S. Gallerano concentrates on complex business litigation, typically on behalf of corporate defendants, but often for plaintiffs or claimants protecting their business interests as well. Ms. Gallerano’s litigation experience includes claims brought under the federal and state securities laws; the civil Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act; the Sherman Act; common-law trademark and the Lanham Act; and a variety of state law contract, business tort and other claims. Her practice also includes defending clients in civil enforcement actions, government and internal investigations, complex class and derivative actions, and fiduciary duty litigation, as well as bringing and defending claims in international and domestic arbitration tribunals.

Representative matters include—

  • defending Fortune 500 company in shareholder derivative actions in Delaware Chancery Court, Texas state court, and Texas federal court against highly-publicized allegations of stock option backdating
  • leading trial counsel in numerous matters for leading contractor and manufacturer of sophisticated aircraft structural components, including $70 million arbitration claim brought against manufacturer and seller of high-end private business jets
  • co-leading counsel defending Big Four accounting firm in multi-district consolidated securities class action and post-confirmation trust litigation in the Eastern District of Texas
  • leading trial counsel for major international insurance group and its employee in tort and conspiracy case in Dallas County District Court, including allegations of conspiracy to inflate and fix rates; summary judgment granted dismissing all claims
  • leading trial counsel for hotel owner in 14 arbitration matters and two federal cases, bringing and defending against breach of contract and business tort claims arising out of purchase of hotels and termination of related hotel management contracts
  • leading trial counsel in Texas state court action defending private medical literature company and its principals against allegations of fiduciary breaches
  • representing major U.S. automotive systems manufacturer in $90 million arbitration brought by truck manufacturer concerning alleged breach of joint venture and licensing agreement
  • defending major European holding company specializing in oil and gas pipeline tubing in litigation by New Jersey corporation in New Jersey federal court seeking over $1 billion in damages for alleged commercial tort and contract violations; summary judgment granted on all counts
  • representing European construction conglomerate in arbitration brought against it by Argentine claimant concerning termination of MOU and seeking over $25 million in damages
  • representing audit committee of public food and entertainment company on internal investigation into company stock option practices, representing management of public oil and gas exploration company on internal investigation into alleged tax and accounting improprieties, representing special committee of consumer goods manufacturer on internal investigation into alleged accounting improprieties.

Ms. Gallerano is a graduate of Leadership Arts (Class of 2001) and Leadership Dallas (Class of 2007) and is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. She is a participating attorney in Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas, Inc. She served on the board of directors of Catholic Charities of Dallas, Inc. from 2001-2006 and served on the advisory committees of Catholic Counseling Services or Refugee and Empowerment Services from 2000-2006. In 2006, she joined the board of directors of Shakespeare Dallas, Inc. Ms. Gallerano has been named by her peers as a Texas "Super Lawyer."
