Louis J. Zivot’s practice focuses on tax matters.
Prior to joining Akin Gump, Mr. Zivot was a tax consultant in the mergers and acquisitions group at PricewaterhouseCoopers L.L.P. in New York.
Mr. Zivot received his B. Comm. from the University of British Columbia , his J.D. from the Southern Methodist University School of Law and his LL.M. in taxation from the New York University School of Law, where he was a graduate editor of the Journal of International Law and Politics. He is a member of the New York, Texas and District of Columbia bars.
Mr. Zivot is the author of "The Evolution of a REIT Rule: Impermissible Tenant Service Income," Real Estate Law Journal (Summer 2004).
