Since joining Akin Gump in 1982, Avrum M. Goldberg has advised and litigated on behalf of clients on employment law and labor relations matters, especially in the manufacturing, transportation, services and public utilities industries. In addition, he is actively involved in the firm's labor legislative projects.
Prior to joining Akin Gump, Mr. Goldberg served as an attorney in the Appellate Court Branch, Division of Enforcement Litigation, Office of the General Counsel, National Labor Relations Board. He also served as a professor of labor relations at The Catholic University of America.
Mr. Goldberg received his B.S. from The Pennsylvania State University in 1965 and his J.D. from the Villanova University School of Law in 1969. He is a fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, a member of the District of Columbia Bar and the American Bar Association and serves on the ABA's subcommittee on Practice and Procedure under the NLRA.
