Maxwell Goss focuses his practice on complex commercial and intellectual property litigation, with experience in patent infringement, trade secret, breach of contract, securities and antitrust matters. Mr. Goss’s experience includes pretrial, trial and appellate litigation. Notable engagements in which Mr. Goss has been involved include representation of—
- a global medical device company in suits against several competitors for patent infringement and theft of trade secrets
- a Canadian software company in a patent infringement suit against several industry leaders in data integration in the Eastern District of Texas
- a multistate class of grocery retailers and distributors in a class action antitrust suit against wholesalers
- a major IT company defending against contract and business tort claims in Texas state court.
Mr. Goss is also actively involved with the firm’s pro bono asylum practice.
Mr. Goss received his J.D. cum laude from Notre Dame Law School, where he was the executive articles editor of the Notre Dame Law Review and participated in the Notre Dame Legal Aid Clinic. During law school, Mr. Goss served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Xavier Rodriguez of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.
Prior to law school, Mr. Goss earned his Ph.D. in philosophy and taught logic, ethics and the history of Western thought at the University of Texas, St. Edward’s University, Concordia University and Western Michigan University.
Mr. Goss is a member of the Federal Bar Association and the San Antonio Young Lawyers Association.
