Margarita Karpova focuses on a wide range of real estate matters, including real estate contracts, property finance and due diligence concerning real estate assets. She also has significant experience in corporate and general commercial matters.
Ms. Karpova’s experience includes—
- advising a major international retailer on a forward purchase of a shopping mall in Moscow
- representing a number of landlords and tenants in relation to lease of office premises, including fit-out arrangements, preliminary lease, lease and sublease negotiations
- advising a number of European banks and financial institutions on property financing matters and real estate security issues
- representing an international material handling manufacturer in negotiations on the sale of automated warehouse systems, including engineering and project management and installation of the automated warehouse systems
- advising, on a secondment basis, a major American paper manufacturer on a wide range of commercial, customs, corporate, real estate, labor and regulatory issues relating to its consumer products and away from home (AFH) businesses in Russia.
Before joining Akin Gump Ms. Karpova worked in the Moscow office of an international law firm. Ms. Karpova graduated from the Moscow State University in 2009. A native Russian speaker, she is fluent in English.
