Mark Zvonkovic is one of only a few energy transactional attorneys in New York City with significant industry experience associated with energy transactions. Mr. Zvonkovic represents companies engaged in the upstream, midstream, mining, energy services and oil, gas, coal and specialty chemical segments of the energy sector, private investment funds investing in those segments, and investment banks and financial advisors performing services for companies operating in those segments, including the underwriting of securities issued by such companies in public offerings and in Rule 144A offerings. As part of his practice in the energy sector, Mr. Zvonkovic has engaged in numerous transactions involving partnerships and limited liability companies, and has advised clients with respect to the structuring of specialty financial instruments involved in complicated acquisition, reorganization and tax transactions. He frequently represents public energy companies in merger and acquisition transactions. He is active in the firm’s climate change practice and represents investors in alternative energy and renewable resources transactions.

Mr. Zvonkovic began his legal career in Houston in 1977 and has practiced in New York City since 1990. From 1976 to 1977 he was the editor-in-chief of the Southwestern Law Review. His recent publications include “Executing Energy Finance Transactions” in The Best Practices of Leading Energy Lawyers (Aspatore Books, 2007), and “Financing Utility Assets in Today’s Regulatory Environment” in Power Finance & Risk (2005).

Mr. Zvonkovic is the Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Directors of The Teachers Network, Inc., a nonprofit corporation that promotes educational policy making and professional development among public school teachers, and a Trustee of The Aloha Foundation, a nonprofit institution that promotes personal growth, self-reliance and cooperation through camping, outdoor activities and environmental education.
