Oliver Ciric’s practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, with a particular emphasis on cross-border transactions and finance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate finance and capital markets, with particular focus on CIS and South-East of Europe.
Recent transactions include—
- advised a company in drafting and negotiating a contract for the design, construction, supply and commissioning of a multipurpose support vessel with duplex dynamic positioning system for a large, state-owned telecommunications company in the Middle East
- advising a major energy company in connection with the JV and corporate aspects of a major pipeline project across Europe
- advising a group of major Ukrainian investors in regards to their cross-border investments in banking, insurance, and real estate sectors as well as reorganizing their business interest in Ukraine
- advising a hotel and leisure investment fund in connection with the acquisition of a major Swiss hotel management company
- advising a U.S. pharmaceutical company with respect to Swiss corporate, transactional and capital markets aspects in connection with the acquisition of a significant stake in a major Swiss biotech and medical technology company listed on the Swiss Exchange
- advised one of the world largest road construction companies in connection with a major greenfield investment in Southeast of Europe.
Prior to joining Akin Gump, Mr. Ciric practiced corporate and commercial law, M&A, corporate restructuring and capital markets with a leading international law firm.
Mr. Ciric received his LL.B. from Geneva and Belgrade Universities and his LL.M. from Boston University School of Law.
