Akin Gump Expands Policy Practice with Acquisition of Parven Pomper Strategies Inc.
Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP has expanded its policy practice with the addition of the seven-person team from government relations and lobbying firm Parven Pomper Strategies (PPS), a Democratic boutique lobbying firm founded in 2006. The team advises Fortune 500 companies, trade associations and foreign governments on trade, tax, financial services, intellectual property, health care and life sciences issues.
PPS founders Scott Parven and Brian Pomper joined the firm’s public law and policy practice as partners, along with senior policy advisor Alixandria Lapp and senior policy counsel Francine Friedman. The group also includes public policy analysts Roger Murry and Sarah Crnkovich. In addition, Al From, the founder and longtime leader of the Democratic Leadership Council, has become a consultant to Akin Gump, continuing the role he played with PPS.
