Paul W. Killian heads the construction practice firmwide. His practice focuses primarily on counseling and resolving disputes on behalf of owners, contractors, design engineers and financial institutions in the planning, design and construction of large projects in the United States and overseas, including hydroelectric projects, power plants, pipelines, hotel and resort developments, office developments, subways, airports, locks, tunnels, mines, bridges, highways and water treatment facilities.

Mr. Killian's practice involves litigation before U.S. appellate and district courts, state courts, the Court of Federal Claims, federal boards of contract appeals, and U.S. and international arbitration panels. He has served as lead counsel in more than 25 major trials. In addition, he has handled government contract disputes before numerous U.S. agencies, including the departments of Defense, Transportation, Labor, State and Energy; the General Services Administration; and the Corps of Engineers, as well as before numerous state transportation departments.

Mr. Killian has been a regular speaker before industry and professional groups on matters involving engineering and construction issues. He received his B.A. with honors from Washington University in 1969 and his J.D. with honors from the George Washington University in 1972. He is a member of the District of Columbia and Virginia bars.

Mr. Killian has served on the governing board of the National Cathedral School and the Kalorama Historical Board; he was recently auction chair of the Heart's Delight event for the American Heart Association.
