Shubi Arora’s practice focuses on mergers, acquisitions and divestitures; joint ventures and similar strategic transactions; and private equity investment. He also frequently advises energy companies on operations in the Gulf of Mexico and general corporate matters. While he focuses on transactions for energy industry participants, he is experienced in advising clients in other industries including chemicals, entertainment, manufacturing and telecommunications.
Mr. Arora has recently represented—
- a midstream MLP in simultaneous multiple acquisitions of equity interests in offshore pipeline companies
- an E&P company in a $1 billion credit facility in connection with a merger
- a midstream MLP in a restructuring merger to eliminate its incentive distribution rights (approximately $635 million)
- a midstream MLP in an acquisition of a $330 million equity interest in a pipeline company
- the conflicts committee of a publicly-traded general partner in a $955 million merger with its MLP
- a Belgian shipping company in a $400 million sale of a production platform to an E&P company.
Mr. Arora is a member of the firm’s India practice and also has experience in advising Indian companies on acquisitions in the United States. He also serves on the board of advisors of an Indian media company.
Mr. Arora has authored several articles on general corporate, M&A and energy matters. He is the president of the South Asian Bar Association of Houston and the co-president of the Houston Chapter of the Vanderbilt Alumni Association.
