Samuel T. Brooks' practice focuses on the establishment, operation and organisation of private investment funds, including hedge funds, real estate funds and private equity funds, in a variety of jurisdictions. He has acted on behalf of both sponsors and investors in relation to funds with a range of investment strategies, with particular emphasis on emerging markets.
Prior to joining Akin Gump, Mr. Brooks trained at a “magic circle” law firm in London between 2005 and 2007.
Mr. Brooks received his M.A. with honours in jurisprudence from Christ Church, Oxford in 2003 and gained a commendation in the Legal Practice Course at the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice in 2004. He was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2007.
