R. Scott Rhoades’ practice primarily focuses on intellectual property litigation, specifically patent and trademark litigation. Mr. Rhoades has extensive patent litigation experience in the electrical and computer fields, including disputes regarding both hardware and software inventions. He has experience in all phases of litigation, including the counseling of clients, management of discovery and involvement in hearings/trials.
Mr. Rhoades has advised clients regarding and managed their trademark and patent portfolios, both domestic and international. He also has experience in the preparation and prosecution of electrical art patent applications and drafting of license agreements.
Mr. Rhoades received his B.S.E.E. and his B.S.B.A. from Kansas State University in 1990 and his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1997. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas; is licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; and is admitted to practice before the Eastern, Northern and Southern Districts of Texas. He is a member of the Dallas Bar Association and the American Intellectual Property Law Association. Mr. Rhoades serves on the Pantego Christian Academy board of trustees and is involved in the Kansas State University Alumni Association.
