“From the first day I started at Akin Gump, I knew this law firm was special. Each individual that comprises my practice group is extraordinary, and together we form a team that is strong and capable. Each member of our team is important, and as a result I have been provided work opportunities many at my level have yet to experience: I have taken and defended fact, corporate, and expert depositions, drafted substantive briefs and motions, and even questioned a witness at a high-profile trial. Akin is enabling me to become an attorney I am proud to be by both providing significant work opportunities and exposure to a strong team with engaged mentors. I am honored to be a member of this firm and eager to develop and grow with Akin.”
Jenna Pellecchia, Counsel, Philadelphia

“From day one, you can feel how much Akin Gump is invested in your development as an attorney. As a second year associate, I had a significant role on a trial team, took and defended depositions, and managed cases and client relationships on a daily basis. Akin Gump gives you challenging opportunities and the support and mentorship you need to succeed. ”
Michael Petegorsky, Associate, New York

What distinguishes your experience at Akin Gump from what you would find at another comparable law firm?

“Being able to have client contact as a first year such as being on calls with the client regarding their matters.”
– Ashley Brown, Counsel, Houston

“There are no first year, second year, third year, etc. assignments. Our cases are staffed leanly, and associates are expected to be able to handle any assignment, regardless of their class year. This allowed me to gain great experience early in my career with depositions, motion practice, hearings, and trial, which I believe is unique compared to colleagues of mine at other comparable firms.”
Michael Reeder, Counsel, Houston

“Opportunities to handle important aspects of the case come quickly, and you will routinely find yourself dealing with more senior attorneys at other law firms. The partners push you to grow, but have your back when you find yourself outside of your comfort zone.”
Romeao Jennings, Counsel, Irvine
