Akin Gump’s energy regulation, markets and enforcement practice has extensive experience in the renewable energy space, including renewable project development, financing and acquisition transactions. Members of our team have represented renewable energy developers in connection with interconnection requests and transmission service contracts, including negotiating interconnection agreements, transmission service agreements and power purchase/sale agreements. We are also familiar with the incentive-based programs associated with the development of renewable energy resources, including various state renewable portfolio standards, and are experienced in drafting contracts for the purchase and sale of renewable energy credits and other green attributes. In addition, members of our team have assisted clients in accessing programs administered by the Department of Energy (DOE), including the Loan Guarantee Program and other programs under DOE’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and state energy programs.
