In addition to the various UAS committees, Justin has served on numerous safety-related groups at the FAA and Department of Transportation (DOT) focusing on promoting aviation safety and security, including:
- FAA Runway Safety Council
- Root Cause Analysis Team (RCAT)
- Research, Engineering & Development Advisory Committee (REDAC) Runway Safety Call to Action Committee
- Safety Risk Management (SRM) Panels
- Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics (RTCA) Airport Construction Safety Task Force.
Prior to joining Akin Gump, Justin co-founded Ascension Global, a management consulting firm focused on UAM and advanced aviation technology, where he led teams serving government clients such as NASA and leading Aerospace original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) on various strategy, market analysis and technical research projects.
Before founding Ascension, he was the Vice President of Regulatory and Legislative Affairs for the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), where he represented the interest of every major domestic airport, and many general aviation members, to the FAA, DOT, NASA, Environmental Protection Agency, Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Congress and the White House.
Justin also worked in analysis for the Maryland Aviation Administration, as a Special Assistant to the Governor of Maryland, and as legislative staff for two Members of Congress.
