Kimberly Pathman is an associate in the labor and employment practice.
Practice and Background
Ms. Pathman’s practice focuses on labor and employment litigation, including class and collective actions arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act and various state wage and hour laws. She also advises clients in connection with discrimination, harassment and wrongful termination disputes. In addition, Ms. Pathman has experience counseling clients on a range of strategic legal issues, including executive employment agreements and separations and restrictive covenants.
Ms. Pathman received her J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law in 2015. While in law school, she served as deputy editor-in-chief for the Northwestern University Law Review and as a judicial extern for The Honorable Joan Humphrey Lefkow of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. In addition, Ms. Pathman was a legal writing teaching assistant to Clinical Professor Kathleen Dillon Narko and participated in the Bluhm Legal Clinic’s Center on Wrongful Convictions of Youth. She earned her B.A. in English, cum laude, from Georgetown University in 2010.
Prior to joining Akin Gump, Ms. Pathman was a complex commercial litigation associate at a large international law firm. She also worked in the human resources department of a large international law firm prior to attending law school.
Ms. Pathman is a member of the American Bar Association and the Florida Bar Association.
Ms. Pathman serves on the Florida Bar Law Related Education Committee.
