Lucy C. Malcolm’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and arbitration.
Practice & Background
Prior to joining Akin Gump, Ms. Malcolm served as a law clerk to the Honorable Virginia A. Phillips of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
Ms. Malcolm received her J.D. in 2010 from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where she served as a senior editor on the Journal of International Law. Ms. Malcolm received her B.A. magna cum laude in 2005 from Georgetown University. Before law school, Ms. Malcolm worked as a paralegal in the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Malcolm’s recent representations include advising:
- a private equity firm in an arbitration arising out of its multi-million dollar investment in a hedge fund
- a former MF Global executive in government and trustee inquiries and in various civil class action proceedings arising under the securities and commodities laws
- a creditors’ committee in a successful expedited claim in connection with an asset sale.
