Practice & Background
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Narayan was a securities litigation associate at a New York firm. Sanjay Narayan practices complex commercial litigation with a focus on securities and structured products. Representative matters include disputes concerning alleged violations of federal and state securities laws, liability under ISDA swap agreements, the Alien Tort Statute, bankruptcy proceedings related to fraudulent conveyance law and the "Ponzi scheme" presumption, indenture trustee liability, breach of contract, and other common law claims. In addition to practicing in federal and state courts, Sanjay has litigated arbitration proceedings, including post-closing working capital (purchase price adjustment) disputes. He also has extensive experience with regulatory and enforcement matters, and conducting internal investigations.
Sanjay maintains an active pro bono practice and has successfully defended clients in actions under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, as well as domestic violence, custody, and support proceedings.
