Sarah Smith focuses on structured finance, general finance and restructuring matters. She has significant experience in advising on public and privately-placed structured finance transactions including advising on the restructuring of structured finance instruments. She also advises regularly on the structuring of bank capital instruments (CET1, Additional Tier 1 and Tier 2) and on investments in bank capital instruments (including recent bail-in legislation). The transactions on which she has advised have covered a wide range of industries, asset types and countries, acting for clients which have included major U.S., British, European and Asian investment banks and commercial banks, a major rating agency, monoline insurance companies and hedge funds. She was resident in Singapore from 1996 to 1998 and again in 2008. Sarah is a member of the City of London Law Society's Financial Law Committee.
