Biography
  • Represents clients across the health care sector on a variety of legislative and regulatory issues.
  • Previously served as a senior analyst with a federal contractor for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Sean advises clients on health policy issues, working with stakeholders to develop and implement effective advocacy strategies. He represents a diverse array of organizations, including health systems, laboratories, medical device companies and others.

Sean advocates on behalf of clients before Congress and federal agencies, and has worked on issues related to Medicare coverage and reimbursement, surprise billing, pharmaceutical supply chains and the opioid crisis, among others. He monitors regulatory and legislative developments to identify client opportunities, and has experience engaging key congressional committees with jurisdiction over health care matters and appropriations.

Prior to joining Akin Gump, Sean was a senior analyst with a contractor for the HHS. He prepared briefings for the Office of the Secretary and top staff, covering a wide range of topics and department priorities such as Affordable Care Act (ACA) implementation, budget/appropriations, global health and the 2014 Ebola outbreak. Sean also worked with a number of medical associations to track policy and research developments of interest to their members.
