Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP’s Longview office is located in the “hotbed for patent litigation”—the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas—and is well positioned to continue anticipating and aggressively pursuing our clients’ needs.
The Longview office is headed by former U.S. Magistrate Judge Chad Everingham of the Eastern District of Texas. While on the bench, Mr. Everingham presided over an extensive array of Markman hearings and patent trials involving a wide range of technologies. Mr. Everingham collaborates and coordinates closely with our nationally recognized patent litigators who, in the aggregate, have handled approximately 100 cases in the Eastern District. Our attorneys have a strong familiarity with the Eastern District’s Patent Rules and an understanding of the local community that enables us to provide cost-effective, efficient representation for our clients.
Not only is Akin Gump’s patent litigation team in Longview formidable in its own right, but as part of a global firm with extraordinary intellectual capital in critically related areas of the law such as corporate, public law and policy, international trade, energy, government contracts, health care, insurance, financial restructuring and antitrust, we provide our clients with a solid team upon which they can rely.
