Additional States Adopt Cybersecurity Requirements for Insurance Companies

Akin Gump has published a new post to AG Data Dive on the new cybersecurity requirements several states have imposed for insurance companies. These new laws, based on the National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ Insurance Data Security Model Law, are similar to statutes in six other states with additional laws and states likely to follow. In response, insurers should assess their in-house cybersecurity programs and monitor related developments in those states that have not yet passed similar laws.
