(Hong Kong) – Akin Gump is pleased to announce that a deal on which it advised, Bain Capital’s acquisition of Virgin Australia, has been named an Impact Deal of the Year as part of International Tax Review’s Asia-Pacific Tax Awards. The firm, led by financial restructuring partners Naomi Moore, Renée Dailey and Abid Qureshi, advised the voluntary administrators (and later, deed administrators) of Virgin Australia as special noteholder liaison counsel and special U.S. counsel.

The ITR Asia-Pacific Tax Awards recognize the “outstanding achievement by tax professionals, teams and firms across the Asia-Pacific region over a 12-month period.”
