Akin Gump Advises Alterra Power Corp. on Soda Lake Geothermal Facility Sale

(Los Angeles) – Akin Gump advised Alterra Power Corp. in the sale of its 15 MW (8 MW net) Soda Lake geothermal facility located in Fallon, Nevada, to an affiliate of Cyrq Energy for $8.5 million.
The deal included certain early-stage development assets also located in Nevada. Additionally, Alterra will retain solar development rights at the Soda Lake facility site for solar projects of up to 40 MW total for up to eight years.
The Akin Gump deal team included global project finance partners Ed Zaelke, who chairs the practice, and Dan Sinaiko and tax partner David Burton.
