Akin Gump Advises GE Capital on Secondary Fund Sale

(Washington, D.C.) – Akin Gump advised GE Capital on the $1.3 billion sale of more than 300 private equity, venture capital and other private fund interest to Ardian (formerly AXA Private Equity), in one of the largest secondary fund portfolio sales of the year.

The transaction, which began in January, involved a team of Akin Gump lawyers across multiple practice areas. Fadi Samman and Angela Adams, partner and counsel, respectively, in Akin Gump’s investment funds practice, led the team advising GE Capital. They were joined by associates Sam Marll, Charles Sims and Rachel Ramos. Additional assistance was provided by partner Blayne Grady, counsel Erin Peters and Adam Tope and associate Jon Ross.
