Akin Gump Advises Rice Midstream Partners in $600 Million Acquisition of Prolific Marcellus Shale Natural Gas Gathering and Water Services Business

(Houston) – Rice Midstream Partners LP today announced it has entered into a purchase and sale agreement to acquire a natural gas gathering and water services business operating in the prolific Marcellus Shale region in Pennsylvania. Akin Gump advised Rice Midstream’s conflicts committee.
The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2016, subject to customary closing conditions. Attorneys in Akin Gump’s oil and gas practice were led by corporate partners J. Vincent Kendrick and Eric Muñoz and counsel Christopher Centrich.
