Akin Gump Advises Valero Energy Partners Conflicts Committee in McKee Terminal Services Deal

(Houston) – Akin Gump advised the conflicts committee of the board of directors of the general partner of Valero Energy Partners LP in the partnership’s pending acquisition of the McKee Terminal Services Business from a subsidiary of Valero Energy Corporation for total consideration of $240 million. The transaction is expected to close effective April 1.
The business to be acquired is a terminal business that supports Valero’s McKee refinery. The assets consist of 75 tanks with 4.4 million barrels of storage capacity for crude oil, intermediates, and refined petroleum products.
The Akin Gump team was led by energy partner David Elder. It included counsel Jhett Nelson and associates Cynthia Angell and Stephen Harrington, also of the energy practice; and tax partner Alison Chen.
