Akin Gump Advises WildHorse Resource Development Corporation in Connection with Transaction Shortlisted for ACG Houston Deal of the Year
(Houston) – WildHorse Resource Development Corporation’s (WRD) $625 million acquisition of approximately 111,000 net acres and associated production in Burleson, Brazos, Lee, Milam, Robertson and Washington counties, Texas, from Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and affiliates of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P. has been named a finalist in the “Oil and Gas Deal of the Year (<$1B)” category in ACG Houston’s inaugural Deal of the Year contest.
Nominated deals, tied to the greater Houston area, had to have closed between October 1, 2016, and September 30, 2017. Additional nomination criteria included transaction value range, industry focus and type of transaction. According to the organization, judges evaluated deals based on the parties’ submissions as well as the overall story, economic and strategic impact, stakeholder value and professional expertise.
The Akin Gump team, which advised WRD on credit agreement and lien issues relating to the acquisition, comprised oil and gas partners William Morris and Chip Cowell, counsel Kate Huggins and associate Kathlyn Mickan.
