Akin Gump Among Shortlisted “Large Firms That Impressed” for 2019 GRR Awards
(Washington, D.C.) – Akin Gump has made the shortlist of “Large Firms That Impressed” at Global Restructuring Review’s GRR Awards 2019. The awards celebrate “the people, places and matters that made an impact in the cross-border restructuring and insolvency sector over the past year.”
The firm was nominated on the basis of its outstanding work in a string of matters, including:
- its role as advisor to the ad hoc group of creditors in Hong Kong-headquartered Noble Group’s restructuring
- its representation of noteholders of U.K.-based Avanti Communications in that company’s restructuring
- its work on behalf of the ad hoc group of noteholders of Greece-based Aegean Marine Petroleum in Chapter 11 proceedings
- its role as counsel to U.S.-based Payless in the company’s second Chapter 11 filing in two years.
Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in Barcelona on June 15.
