Akin Gump Among Texas Leaders In The American Lawyer’s “Corporate Scorecard 2014”

Texas Lawyer, in its article “What Texas Firms Worked on the Big Deals in 2013?”  reported that Akin Gump was one of seven Texas firms working on the nation’s top corporate deals as well as the biggest bankruptcies filed or completed last year, putting the firm near the top of The American Lawyer’s “Corporate Scorecard 2014.” 

The article noted that Akin Gump worked on three of the nation’s largest bankruptcies, ranked second in Texas for representing issuers by value on non-U.S. IPOs and was among the “BigTex” firms ranked for its M&A work in 2013, coming in 12th place nationwide, based on number of deals. The firm also placed 10th overall for the number of private equity deals.

“Corporate Scorecard 2014” rankings are based on firms that handled the most or the highest value of deals or issues in corporate practices including IPOs and equities, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, project finance, corporate debt, securities, municipal bonds and real estate investment trusts. It also includes lists of the 10 largest bankruptcies filed and the 10 largest bankruptcy emergences.
