Akin Gump Among Top Three in Vault Summer Associate Rankings

(Washington, D.C.) Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP rocketed up the ranks to take third place in Vault’s second annual Summer Associate Program Rankings. The results are based on responses received from over 17,000 first- through third-year associates who worked as summer associates at their current firms and who were asked to rate the summer program in which they participated.
Akin Gump was also listed as having the number five Summer Associate Program that Best Prepares for Practice and the number 10 Most Fun Summer Associate Program.
Among the comments received as part of the survey, one Akin Gump associate noted, “I loved the summer associate program at Akin—I received substantive work, worked directly with partners and met clients, and attended in-court appearances. The summer program is small enough such that you really get to know your class, and there is a good balance of fun social events and training. The assignment process is interactive, and you work directly with an assigning partner to find projects you are interested in. You also have the opportunity to try out work from any department in the firm.”
Akin Gump’s strong showing in the Vault survey follows its national top ten ranking in the most recent American Lawyer Summer Associates Survey, published in October of last year.
