Akin Gump Energy Deals Featured Prominently in Houston Business Journal Dealmakers Issue

(Houston) – Three recent energy deals in which Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP served as legal advisor are featured in the Houston Business Journal’s first “top legal dealmakers” issue. The Business Journal surveyed the largest firms in Houston with the aim of “[honoring] the legal masterminds behind some of the most notable — and largest — deals led by Houston partners of the past year.”

- GAIL Global (USA) LNG LLC’s new terminal service agreement with Dominion for 2.3 mmtpa liquefaction capacity in the Cove Point LNG liquefaction terminal project in Lusby, Maryland, a project with an expected cost of $3.4 billion to $3.8 billion. - EP Energy LLC’s three separate deals involving the sale of some of its natural gas assets: an agreement with WildHorse Resources II, LLC, relating to the company’s Arklatex conventional gas assets located in East Texas and North Louisiana; an agreement with another purchaser for its legacy South Texas conventional gas assets; and an agreement with Atlas Resource Partners, L.P. relating to the company’s coal bed methane properties primarily located in the Raton, Black Warrior and Arkoma basins.
