Akin Gump Expands Intellectual Property Practice

(Washington, D.C.) – Cono A. Carrano has joined Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP in Washington as a partner in the intellectual property practice.
A registered patent attorney, Mr. Carrano focuses his practice on complex patent litigation, counseling and licensing. He has represented leading global companies in the semiconductor, electronics, software, medical device, wireless and optics technology fields before the U.S. District Courts, the International Trade Commission (ITC) and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Steven M. Zager, leader of Akin Gump’s intellectual property litigation practice, stated, “Cono is an exceptional lawyer. His relationships with significant technology clients and his ITC experience will help us to continue to grow our IP litigation practice.”
Mr. Carrano received his B.S. in electrical engineering from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, his M.S. in electrical engineering from the Polytechnic University of New York University and his J.D. from the Hofstra University School of Law. He joins the firm from Howrey, where he was a partner.
